Ogah who had in 2015 contest for the same position with Governor Okezie Ikoeazu polled 86,875 votes out of the total vote cast of 106,160 in the direct primaries held at different political wards in the state.
His closest rival, former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike polled 10,889 votes to come a distant second while Chief Friday Nwosu came third with 3529 votes.
Former Deputy Governor, Chris Akomas scored 2143 to place fourth while former Nigeria High Commissioner to South Africa, Okey Emuchey came fifth with 1270 votes and Prince Paul Ikonne came sixth with 999 votes.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee and former Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. David Iyoha who announced the result at the APC state secretariat Azikiwe Road Umuahia said Ogah had satisfied the constitutional requirements of the party and declared him winner of the contest as well as the party’s candidate in the 2019 governorship poll.
